Have you ever wished to modify a campaign you’ve already set to run in Pushwoosh Customer Journey Builder? Many of our customers have, so we’ve made it possible. Now you can edit the starting event, content or segmentation criteria in your active journeys. This means your mobile messaging is a few clicks away from becoming better-optimized and error-free.
Which Journey Elements Can You Edit?
You can now modify most of the journey elements:
- Change the starting trigger event (Start by Event conditions)
- Replace the Tag you set for segmentation
- Reset the conditions for Segment Splitter
- Edit your message content more easily
As a Pushwoosh user, you may remember that you’ve always been able to make changes in the ultimate message displayed to your audience — through modifying its Preset. It’s been especially useful for recurring communications sent on a Scheduled Launch — at any moment you could fix or renew your repeatedly sent content.
Now, it works even better — you can edit the copy right from the Pushwoosh Customer Journey interface:
- Specify the delay for the next message sending (Wait Until terms)
- Change Conversion Goals
- Experiment group ratio in A/B testing
In an active journey, you can’t delete the A/B Split element, but you can adjust the proportions of groups A and B.
How Can Active Campaign Editing Improve Your Life As a Marketer?
Correct any mistakes in a running campaign
No need to deactivate a journey because of an unfortunate error or a typo you’ve belatedly found in a message. Fix it, and keep the campaign going.
Update the content
You may be happy with the overall logic of your campaign (such as the Segment you target and the order of messages), but you may need to fine-tune your message copy. Now you can do it more easily than before, at any time.
Optimize your campaign
Like many Pushwoosh users, you may put a lot of effort into creating a long and complicated journey… only to find out after the launch that the sequence performs worse than expected. Is there a way to fix it? Now there is, as you can edit the core elements of your active Journeys without stopping them.
Optimize your carefully designed campaigns and never let your work go to waste.
How Will Statistics Be Affected Once the Journey Is Edited?
If you’ve edited the Content of your messages, you will see their modified versions and get to compare their performance before and after the edits in Full Statistics.
If you’ve changed an essential journey element such as a starting Event, your campaign statistics won’t be recalculated. New entries and goals achieved will simply be added to the results you’ve gained before editing the journey.

Are There Any Journey Elements You Can’t Edit?
For now and for the future, you can’t:
❌ reset Silent Hours
❌ change Frequency Capping
❌ modify the Start by Segment Settings
❌ rearrange the sequence of your journey elements — such as modify the logic of A/B Split or add Push Open Split if it wasn’t already there when the journey was activated
❌ delete any elements of an active journey
Otherwise, that would be a completely different journey, don’t you agree?
